Press Release

Solland Solar national winner of FD Gazellen Award 2007

Heerlen (15 november 2007) – Solar cell manufacturer Solland Solar has been announced as winner of the FD Gazellen Award 2007, the prize for the fastest-growing companies in the Netherlands. Solland Solar finished first in a field of 417 companies. During the period 2004-2006 the winning company achieved the highest growth in turnover with 3198 percent.

This expansion shows no signs of slowing down. This year Solland Solar is counting on a turnover of more than EUR 80 million, increasing to around EUR 200 million in 2008. This growth in turnover is a result of the increased demand for solar energy products.

The FD Gazellen Award is an initiative of the Financieele Dagblad newspaper together with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, MKB Nederland and Craydon Research Bureau, and has now been presented for the fourth year. To qualify for nomination, companies must have shown a growth in turnover of at least 20% in the period 2004-2006. Moreover, the company must have shown a profit at the end of the last year (2006).

Rising Star Award

The FD Gazellen Award is the second major prize that Solland Solar has been awarded in a short space of time. Earlier this autumn the company was rewarded with the Rising Star Award for the most promising technology company in the Netherlands. The jury praised Solland Solar for its realistic business plan, its innovative strengths and its ability to motivate its own personnel. The Rising Star Award is sponsored by ABN Amro bank and business magazine FEM Business among others.
